Lightroom 6.10 not responding after updating to latest MacOS on 5/6/17

After updating my MacBook Pro (13" Late 2013 with 16 GB memory & core i5) Lightroom 6.10 seemingly loads but then becomes unresponsive.  I've tried restarting the computer and restarting Lightroom with no success.
