Provide more details. What operating system version number? How did you transfer Lightroom to your new computer (step-by-step)? What happens when you try to open it? How far do you get in the opening process? What is the word-for-word error message?

You cannot install Lightroom 6 on Catalina. Impossible.

Your options are to upgrade to Lightroom Classic, or downgrade the operating system, or use some other software.
