Will the new laptop be Windows or MAC? If MAC, the MACOS will be Catalina. The installer for Lightroom 6 and earlier is 32bit. You absolutly cannot run 32bit applications on Catalina.

Adobe no longer sells Lightroom 1 thru 6.

In the End User License agreement for Lightroom 1 thru 6 is a contract stipulation refering to products no longer supported by Adobe, Think it had some sort of language about after 3 years from when product was sunsetted. So our legal options are probably none.
Are you in the EU? Think Adobe wound up in court, Adobe won (I do not have a reference)

If you have the original CD that Lightroom 1 thru 6 came in, a proper one, not some bootlegged one. And if you kept the documentation on serial number. You may be able to reinstall on Windows, You might wind up calling Adobe if you run into too many activations.
MAC Catalina? nope

If you have a legal copy, a CD of Lightroom 6. And assuming you registered it (some confusion on that) Then some access to v6.14 may be found at Adobe.com.
