Lightroom backups not using space

I apologize if this has been asnwered already, but I cannot find a specific answer. I have my Lightroom Classic photos synced, but it is still showing only 1.1MB used for my cloud storage when I have about 50 RAW files. I want to make sure that my actual photos themselves are backed up, not just the Smart Previews, and it doesn't seem they are as no cloud space has been used.

That's exactly as designed. Smart-previews do not utilize your storage allowance. LightroomClassic does not sync original files to the Cloud storage. The originals reside on your computer system, so you need to make your own backup plans.

Lightroom cloud-based computer app and Lightroom mobile apps sync original files to the Cloud storage and will utilize you storage allowance. If Sync is turned on in LrC (classic) copies of the original files from your synced mobile devices and the cloud-based app will sync to the computer where classic resides.
