I tried opening my Lightroom Ver 5.0 stated that I needed the catalog repaired, then stated that "unfortunately the catalog named Lightroom 5 Catalog cannot be repaired...so I uninstalled LR and then tried to install it again but the installer to LR 5 is done...now what??? Help please...

If you are running Windows, or MAC prior to Catalina, you can download LR 5 from https://prodesigntools.com/lightroom-5-ddl-comparison-vs-lr4.html. If you have MAC Catalina or later, you cannot re-install LR 5.
However, uninstall/re-install will not fix catalog problems.
As stated by @Rob_Cullen , the solution is to restore a recent backup.
