This has been an issue in Lightroom since forever it seems and yet it still persists. Sigma 50mm 1.4 Art showing as a Tokina (see image below).

Can someone advise as to why this is please?

Thank you.

In the Lens Corrections panel switch Make to Sigma and find the correct lens profile using the Model selector. Once selected click on the Setup drop down and select Save New Lens Profile Defaults. All future imports shot with that lens will have that lens profile assigned.

Looks like it's an on going problem. Found that from Googling Sigma lens showing as Tokina lens

Lenses are identified by a numeric code assigned by the maker. If Sigma and Tokina gave their lens the same number, it is understandable that LRC might get a bit confused until the user points it in the right direction - as outlined by Todd above.

There was post to this forum yesterday (too busy to search it out) in which it was stated that updating to the latest lens firmware will resolve the issue.

Here's the link concerning firmware update fixing the issue. I assume this fixes both the incorrect lens profile and the lens name in EXIF data. If you can live with the incorrect lens name Save New Lens Profile Defaults will fix the incorrect lens profile.
