Has anyone else got the same problem? After each export is done (to my external hard drive),

develop and library modules become non-responsive. When I get back in, it often will work.

Slows me down big time! Very frustrating,

Hi there,

Sorry that Lightroom 6 becomes unresponsive after exporting a single TIFF image.

Could you please try turning off the GPU option from Lightroom's preferences? Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom and let us know if it helps?

You may also try the steps mentioned here and see if it helps: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/lightroom-gpu-faq.html#troubleshooting

Thanks,

Akash

Thank you for your advice. It was a swift response this time. I confirmed that Develop module was now responsive by exporting several photos over a period of time.

Can you tell me why this setting makes such a difference? I wish I had known that a long time ago. It was a very painful experience.

Yes, it worked. Grateful to this community for learning the solution. So far, touch wood, I have had no problems.

For those wanting to upgrade from LR6, I was able to get an upgrade to 6.14 as well with the help of Adobe.

I am in the process of getting a new computer but wondering how difficult it will be to transfer LR over. Has anyone had any problems doing that?
