Same thing happens with Lightroom (cloud based version). No other CC applications are affected.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about Lightroom crashing, please try updating the video drivers and see if it helps.
Also, check if there are any pending Windows updates available to install.

You may also check this article and let us know how it goes: https://blog.pcrisk.com/windows/12289-how-to-fix-directx-errors

Hey Sahil.Chawla.

Preface this, I am running a Nvidia 1080.

Completely uninstalled video drivers and accompanying nvidia software. Restarted computer. Installed latest video driver (version 442.19).

Lightroom still crashes with same error.

I uninstalled Visual C++ Redistributales Package and installed it again.

Lightroom still crashes with same error.

And the 'dxdiag' tool didn't post any warning or error in any of it's tabs.

So this occurs even without Lightroom Classic running?

When this occurs, do you have some form of removable media with images on it? A SD card, a smart phone?

Lightroom Classic crashes before it ever opens. Crashes before there is even the canonical splash screen.

No removable media is attached to the computer.

Also, when this occurs, when Lightroom is not running.

What services related to Adobe are running? At least one will be, for the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App, looking for updates, looking to talk to Adobe.

But additional ones?

LATEST

None. Only adobe application running is Creative Cloud.

Apart from Adobe, this error occurs at system startup when only the OS and the nvidia control panel are the only processes running.
