Lightroom classic 9.3 crashing on startup

Hi,

I am having trouble with the Lightroom Classic app. It keeps crashing. It was working all fine until yesterday. when I open the app today it keeps crashing and a dialog box appears to send the crash report.

I have tried all the steps in the community but nothing change.

Can someone help with this?

The problem was a Windows 10 thing, I found Photoshop wouldn't load either, and found this page https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install/can-t-launch-photoshop-or-indesign/m-p/11137190?page=1

 

I downloaded the latest Visual C++ from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads and now Lightroom works!

Sorry to hear that Lightroom Classic 9.3 keeps crashing right after you open it.

 

I can see that your computer's RAM is quite low and that makes it easy for an application to run out of memory. Available memory to Lightroom Classic is just 1240 MB.

 

However, as per the system info the problem seems to be with the Graphics processor as it is not being detected by the application.

 

To start troubleshooting the issue, let's try to prevent the app to crash at startup. To do so, try restoring Lightroom Classic app preferences to default and let us know if the issue still persists? Please refer this article for step by step instructions:

Once the app preferences are reset, navigate to the Preferences> Performance section and set the option "use graphics processor" to off. This will help us diagnose the issue if related to the GPU drivers.

Thanks for the reply. I have tried the steps which mentioned in the link you attached. I do agree with less memory but this wasn't the case until the latest update. This is all happened after I installed the latest update for LR. Also, my Graphics processor has never been detected by the app. It always appeared in disabled status while selected OFF. I have copied the system info below. This is after I have tried all the next steps which were mentioned in the link. One more thing. From the following day to till date, it was working fine. Today suddenly the same problem occurred again. I have no clue what is going on with the application. I appreciate all your support.

Thanks for the update. Would you mind disabling the use of GPU in Lightroom manually as mentioned in this article? https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html#solution-2

I'm having the same problem.

 

Crashes on loading. I've reinstalled Lightoom Classic, reset preferences, deleted the GPU files, updated graphics driver.

 

Nothing seems to make a difference, it just crashes. Please help

Solved!

 

The problem was a Windows 10 thing, I found Photoshop wouldn't load either, and found this page https://community.adobe.com/t5/download-install/can-t-launch-photoshop-or-indesign/m-p/11137190?page...

 

I downloaded the latest Visual C++ from https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/help/2977003/the-latest-supported-visual-c-downloads and now Lightroom works!
