Lightroom Classic crashing Mac Pro 2010 consistently

v10.1 of Lightroom Classic locks up my MacPro 2010 consistently.

I import an image, crop, and possibly get as far as trying to apply a vignette, and at that point the whole system locks up has to be rebooted with the power button.

I uninstalled and reinstalled Lightroom Classic with no improvement.

I loaded an older version from my Time Machine backup (Feb 2020). It works fine, but unfortunately it cannot access the catalogs that were upgraded since then.

Lots of issues with v10.1 and many with v10.0. On multiple MACOS, on multiple GPUs, not everyone, even with exact same rigs have the problems.

Many have to rollback a vetsion or two.

I had an exchange with a fellow who works with  "Victoria Bampton, The Lightroom Queen" https://www.lightroomqueen.com

They said Adobe is well aware of this problem and working on a fix, but agreed that their lack of communication has been ridculous. He said he also switched back to 10.0 as although he was not getting crashes and freezes like most of us, his Develop module was totally wonky. So that's the best advice, roll bacl to 10.0 and wait for the next fix. Happy New Year to all!

Maybe your problem-  OS incompatibility  (a guess by a Windows user 🙂 )

A 2010 MacPro will only support up to OS High Sierra

https://www.macworld.co.uk/feature/what-version-macos-compatible-3776008/

Lightroom-Classic requires OS Mojave or higher.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.

Not sure I understand!

Is that Mac OS 10.6 Snow Leopard?

Lightroom-Classic 10.0 requires MacOS 10.14 or higher to ensure compatibility.

You are lucky if Lr-Classic v10 is running ok with MacOS 10.6!

Sorry for any confusion.  To clarify, I rolled Lightroom Classic version 10.1 back to version 10.  That eliminated the crashing problem for my system which is running MacOS 10.14.6.

Yeah, sorry for the typo. I am on Mojave, 10.14.6  Mac Pro

3 GHz 8-Core Intel Xeon E5  w/64gb RAM.

As I mentioned, rolling back to LR 10.0 was what I did and was subsequently confirmed by the folks at Victoria Bampton's site. That's what they did. They said Adobe is aware of the problem but has been terrible at communicating with all of us, as we all know.

I received a recommendation to roll back from version 10.1 to version 10. That solved the problem - no more crashes. Thanks for the feedback and suggestions.
