Lightroom Classic has changed the capture date on my photos

I am using Lightroom Classic version 10.1 for mac.

My son got married on July 11, 2020, and the professional photos weere available for download on 10/17/20 (98 days later). I imported those pictures to Lightoom. The capture date for those photos is correctly shown as July 11, 2020, and they reside in a Folder dated 10/17/2020.

My problem is that for every Folder prior to the 10/17/20 folder the capture dates have been changed by exactly 98 days! Eg. in my October 3, 2020 Folder, the capture date was changed to June 27, 2020. This change has occured to 50,000+ photos, so I can't go in and manually change the capture date for all of those pics.

Is there some way to to a mass Capture date change to correct this problem?

Thanks in advance for any advice you can pass on.

How are you viewing the capture date?

Where are you viewing the capture date?

Does the rest of the EXIF data look OK?

With a capture date of July, why are the downloaded files in an October folder?

Thank you for your reply

I am viewing the capture date in the Metadata info while in Library view.

The rest of the data seems to be OK

I have no idea why the files with a July capture date ended up in an October folder other than that was the date that I was able to import them.

Thanks again

Have a look at ALL dates for the image.

If you need to make mass changes to files PRIOR to importing, you can look at external batch tools like EXIFTOOL.

For other batch changing dates, Google "lightroom mass change create date"
