"Adobe Lightroom Classic when clicking to start nothing happens, ... it appears in the task manager, but it does not open"

As it appears in Task Manager I might suggest you try this procedure-

  1. Do a computer cold reboot/re-start
  2. Open Lightroom (even if it does not appear)
  3. Open the Task Manager. (CTRL+ALT+DELETE) or (Windows Key+X > Menu >Task Manager)
  4. Right-Click on the App- Adobe Photoshop Lightroom-
  5. Select the option "Go to details"-
  6. Right-Click on "Lightroom.exe"
  7. Click on [Set Priority]
  8. Set the Priority to "High"
  9. Close Task Manager.
  10. Close all programs and Re-Boot the computer
  11. As you open Lightroom- Reset the Preferences by holding down [SHIFT+ALT].
  12. Check LR closes & opens correctly.
Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.

You appear to tell us in your post that the way you can tell if LR has started is because it appears in the Task Manager.

Please have a look through some of the information in this link

and post at least your OS and Lightroom version numbers thanks.
Did WobertC's process help you?
