I am giving the new LRC v 10.0 updated on 10/22/2020 a test run:
Launched it, clicked the Slideshow menu and it froze. Restarting LRC failed because LRC complained the catalog is in use. Did not see anything recognizable in Task Manager to kill to let go of the catalog. Had to restart PC. Tried again it worked.
Clicked on Edit->Preferences and LRC froze. Clicking anywhere on LRC caused bell sound. Again I had to restart PC because Task Manager wouldn’t end the process.
Posting this in hopes Adobe sees this and investigates.
It would be nice to have a report bug option in the help menu.

It is my first time posting anything anywhere. I do not think I can edit my original post. I should make it clear that I rebooted twice and clicking Preferences still causes LRC freeze. So after the third reboot, I think I will stop clicking Preferences. I might try reinstalling LRC.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.
