What Exact Version of Lightroom are you using?

You post this in the Lightroom Classic forum, so I assume you mean Lightroom Classic. What subscription plan do you have? The Lightroom plan is for Lightroom (cloud) only. You can install Lightroom Classic as trial, but after the trial period you will indeed be asked to buy it. The Photography plan contains Lightroom Classic.
