Which version of Lightroom (Classic or "cloud based"), and what version number?

It sounds like a problem with the lock file still present, which can happen after a crash. Using File Explorer, look inside the folder that contains your catalog and see if there is a file that ends with ".lock". If it is there, delete it.....do NOT delete any file ending with ".lrcat", only delete the file ending with ".lock".

What is the version you have installed (numbers, not latest to alike)?

What is your OS?

Did you try a reboot?

I am a registered owner of the original DVD Lightroom Version 1.1.

I have 2 questions:

1) Is there any way to get my 10-year-old DVD version 1.1 to work on Windows 10 Pro 64 bit?

2) What is the latest DVD version of Lightroom that will work properly in Window 10?

I'm not interested in the Paid Subscription; I'm a disabled Vet and have to watch my limited resources.

Thank you for your assistance in my unusual situation.

Regards,

Robin (Mr.)

1) Only way to know is to try an install! Have you tried?

2) There is none! You cannot buy any Lightroom on DVD now. (eBay sales are mostly scams. )

If a subscription is 'out of the question', you may be better looking for other software-  Even freeware like https://www.darktable.org/about/

Or lower cost from- ADobe Photoshop Elements, DXO, Corel, ON1, Skylum, Serif Affinity, etc.

I note that Nikon have also released ('Free' for Nikon cameras) Nikon-NX-Studio.

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.
