Lightroom Duplicating Photos error

Having an issue when duplicating photos on lightroom.
When editing, I like to do copies of a photo; color and monochrome. Before I duplicate, I make sure to crop and heal/clone the photo. When I've been duplicating recently, the copy reverts to the original format without any of the edits previously done. Any idea why this is?
P.S. I was able to get customer service support yesterday, and it helped for awhile. But now it's having the same issues today.

How do you make these copies? Are this virtual copies of the appropriate image?

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

Which operating system do you use?

Which version of Lightroom do you use?

Please post the exact version and not only phrases as "recent", "latest" and so on.

Actually, seems the issue I'm having is with the sync. It's very slow
