I was using lightroom earlier today and the reference was there. I restarted my computer and when lighroom booted up again it was gone. What is going on? The toolbar is still there, but reference view is not there and I can't figure out how to get it back

What do you mean by reference? Are you trying to open Lightroom Classic? Have you tried opening it from the Creative Cloud desktop app?

Reference View is only available in the Develop module, and if the 'RA' icon is present in the Toolbar, then it's possible that a corrupt preference file is the issue.

To reset the Lightroom Prefernce file follow the instruction in Method 1 described at https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/help/setting-preferences-lightroom.html
