Lightroom tethering question

I have a Canon 5DSR. I am using a tether tools cable connected to a MacBook pro. I want to use live view for classroom instruction and also capture through lightroom. I just get a spinning wait cursor when tethering. I know the cable works because I contacted tether tools and downloaded their software and it worked fine. So it has to be a lightroom issue. Any clue what might be wrong? I have used this camera before with lightroom with no problems.

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.
