Lightroom using high CPU & RAM and almost hangs while using selective edits/ Adjustments

This is a BRAND new  PC built just 2 months ago

AMD Ryzen 5 3600X

8GB DD4

Gigabyte B450 Pro wifi board

Zotac GTX 1050 4Gb Graphics

Monitor Benq 4K 27 inch

Samsung 250 Gb SSD

Lightroom loaded on SSD - C:\ drive

OS Windows 10

I tried changing lightroom versions from 9, 9.2 and now running with 10.0 still the same

Almost CPU is hitting 75-90% peak while the screen goes blank inside lightroom window

RAM almost using juice of  6-7 gb out of 8GB at 70-80%

This is really getting painful being with this configuration

Please someone help me out of this

If by "selective edits" you mean brushing and / or spot healing, then this has been reported many times, and usually means your hardware is not powerful enough to perform the task in a reasonably short amount of time, especially made worse by having a 4K monitor, which puts a lot of stress on the hardware. The problem is almost always CPU and/or GPU can't do the work. This is almost never related to memory.

One thing you can try is to switch the setting on GPU acceleration (preferences->Performance->"Use Graphics Processor") and see if that helps.

While selecting Spot healing and initiating the process of applying, it hangs and the lightroom screen blank for couple of seconds and come back. when it comes back the brush might have scribbled all the way

Selective Edits not seen much of this lagging issue

But while working on the normal edits like changing highightts / contrast it is lagging a lot for those updates. As I need for 20-30secs for each and every move

It is default with --> Use Graphics Processor - AUTO Mode

Do you want to change it to CUSTOM and select GPU for image processing

You can try all the different selections for GPU image processing, including OFF. But if that doesn't work, then the only conclusion is that your Hardware isn't powerful enough.

Also, please state the size of your original images in pixels or megapixels (not megabytes).

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Gigabyte B450 Pro wifi board

8GB DD4

This MB?

https://www.gigabyte.com/us/Motherboard/B450-AORUS-PRO-rev-10/sp#sp

Supports up to 128 GB of DDR 4bRAM, why just 8GB?

LrC supposedly runs on as little as 8, but Adobe reccomends at least 16.

Yes this one B450 AORUS PRO WIFI (AMD AM4 B450/rev1.0)

I thought will try with 8Gb and if needed will upgrade. So Adobe recommends 16 ??

The particular problem you are describing is not a memory issue. It is a CPU and/or GPU issue. Adding memory will not make a difference to this problem.

So this GPU?

https://www.zotac.com/us/product/graphics_card/zotac-geforce-gtx-1050-ti-oc-edition

Does that GPU have an additional power connector, or is all power thur the slot?

Not sure if you can push that GPU into higher power use l as discused in:

At Karthik you posted “ Do you want to change it to CUSTOM and select GPU for image processing “  I would try that, I believe that is what DJ was advising.
