Lightroom will no longer import or move images to my external Hard Drive

So in recent weeks, when I try to import from either of my Camera's into my External Hard Drive, Lightroom won't do it. It says that either the files can't be read or destination folder is unwritable. There is loads of room on the Hard Drive and the permissions are fine so has anyone else had this issue and if so, how has it been fixed??

** IGNORE...I thought I had changed the permissions but when I went back in they were still Read only so have fixed and that (hopefully) seems to have fixed the issue for now **

Hi there,

For future reference always check that the drive has read & write permissions. Also, keep Lightroom updated via the Creative Cloud Desktop app.

It's not enough to check the DRIVE permissions. You need to check the permissions on the FOLDER you want to use. The DRIVE could have write permission set, but the FOLDER could have read-only permission.
