LR 6.14 crashes on import

I have LR 6.14 which has started crashing every time I try to import more that a few files or delete files. any help would be appreciated

Intel. i5 6500 3.2Hz

Geforce GTX 1050

m2 Disk

win 10

The first thing that you should try is to switch off the GPU support from the Lightroom preferences and check if that helps to fix the issue.

Go to Lightroom > Preferences > Performance tab > Uncheck "Use Graphics Processor" > Restart Lightroom.

Another step is to try to reset the Lightroom preferences.

If this doesn't help we need more informations about your environment.

• Which operating system do you use?
• Which version of Lightroom do you use?

Please post the exact version and not only phrases as "recent", "latest" and so on.

Do you get an error message? If yes, please post the exact message or an screenshot. 

Has this worked in the past? What has been changed on your system before the error occur?

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic (LrC) reports it. In LrC click on Help, then System Info, then Copy. Paste that information into a reply. Please present all information from first line down to and including Plug-in Info. Info after Plug-in info can be cut as that is just so much dead space to us non-Techs.

Does the import failure occur for both importing via Copy and via Add?

1) I got an error messag after it had shut down a fe times something like;- a shut down task error a plug in for JF geocoding became unresponsive.
SSD 81gig system drive where lr installed m2 40gig free

2) I import from File/import photos and videos i cant find an option to copy or add

4) I have just used chat to adobe and they say lr6.14 is no longer supported but he thinks the recent upgrade of windows means it might no longer work properley and he said

Delete or disable the plug-in.

Didnt think of that but i have now disabled it in the iibrary plug in extra menu and it is now greyed out but it still crashes mainly it seems after it has imported the files but while it is building standard previews, then it usually crashes severl times befor it loads again. in what directory are the plug in files stored so i can delete the actual file.

Go to the Plug-in Manager, the specific folder is shown there.

Yes found it removed the plug ins from folder and it still crashes

I appear to have solved the problem by reinstalling Lr in win 8 comparability mode.

Are you applying any presets during import?

If so, does not applying them help?

Only from camera which has just imported 65 nef succesfully but no option for it on import menue when importing from ssd

Are you importing with SD card in reader, or camera, or are pictures already on hard drive?

I am importing from ssd however I have just connected my camera and it has imported 65 NEF's with no problem

I am also having the same problem on my second computer which has not opend lightroom for over 5 months

I am having teh same issue.  It just started yesterday 12/15/2020.  I made teh mistake of re-installing 6.0 now I can't get version 6.14 back.

You have to do it through chat with adobe and it took me 40 minutes going round in circles to find the chat button they will then authorize your computer and give you a link to download 6.14 i did it about june this year

back to 6 hours to when i started today
