Since Lightroom Classic was automatically updated to 10 recently, the plug ins to some of Topaz and On1 consistently crash when editing photos from LR. Any advice?

Yes, they probably were not designed to work with LrC 10.0. Try downloading new versions of the plugin (if there are new plugins available).
