I have recently imported a large collection of videos for an assortment of DJI drones.
Lightroom is not working with the videos. First problem is that LR does not show the meta data for any fo the MP4 or MOV files from my drones. Anotther app called Anyfile shows all kinds of metadata in the video files. Even the GPS information is not read by LR.
Second problem is the videos do not play within Lightroom.
I just tried to select a Mavic Mini H.264 video from the bottom list of objects. The pane in the middle of the screen says "There was an error working with the video". I am able to see thumbnail for the video in the list at the bottom, and in the grid. In the grid, I can even mouse hover right and left to get a scrub through the video on the thumbnail. But double clicking it to open gives me a blank grey area in middle of screen, a nonworking play bar at the bottom, and eventually after a long pause "There was an error working with the video"
This happens for any video that I try. I went into Preferences -> Performance and turned off Use Graphics Processor and this did not help.
I just tturned hardware acceleration back on Custom. Now the video hover scrubs in grid, and when I double click it, I see a frame of the video flicker full screen, then back to grey. And after a long pause "There was an error working with the video".
Earlier I had an error comming up "unknown error: develop_settings"
I have uploaded a series of videos testing the various modes H.264 & H.265 with .MOV and .MP4 for Mavic 2 Pro. None of them can be displayed within Lightroom Classic. I have also included a sample Mavic Mini video that will not display in Lightroom Classic.
I am using 20218 Macbook Pro, MacOS Catalina 10.15.5 and the latest Lightroom Classic.

I imported those videos into my LR 9.3 / Mac OS 10.15.5 and started playing them. Soon enough, one one of the videos LR gave the error message, "Video System Error: Unknown message: nextFrame". It gave that error on all of the videos after that.
But after restarting LR, they all play fine, and I can't reproduce the problem.
Only one of the videos, DJI_0830.MP4, has GPS metadata, and it doesn't import into my LR either.
In general, LR's support for video, including video metadata, has always been weak and inconsistent, and there have been reports like yours since video was first introduced in LR 3. Sometimes playback stutters, even on fully capable hardware. I gave up on it a long time and use Any File to many my vidoes (with Ctrl+O invoking Any File > Open to play the videos in Mac OS's Quick Time app).
