LR extremly slow

Hello everybody : )

 

I use LR since many years. It's really a great program!! It was ALWAYS very fast adn responsive. Excellent.

 

Since ssome days suddently it became extremely slow on starting: Double click on LR icon, no sign of life at all, after 40 seconds appears a LR empty "frame" (not as usual), the "copyright page"with the long list of authors does not appear anymore. after another minute or so, it starts completely.
Aftwerwards it is fast a usual, I can work as usual.

Starting always incredibly slow. Only LR, other programs are ok as usual.

I use w10, ssd disk on a laptop. no external disks. 8gb ram . it was ok since some days ago...


Some days ago, after startingLR I got an Adobe question, I had to write where I live. I did it, of course. And w10 update occurs as well.


I read/tryied many suggestions here, no change 😞

 

I tried to "fix" w10 (clean start), no change.

 

can some oneplease help?

Sometimes this is caused by a plug-in. Logitech plug-ins are a known cause of this, but there could be other plug-ins causing this.

I am confused, In your context you mention v10. In System Info, you have v5.4 for Lightroom, and v8.1 for Windows.

 

As for v5.4 of Lightroom, nothing has changed for years, so the issue is not Lightroom. But as  dj_page stated, perhaps a plug-in (and Logitech is highly suspect)

 

Also, Windows v8.1, also no mods in years. But what about drivers?

You might want to consider reseting the preference file. The preference file can get corrupted leading to all sorts if odd behavior. Note that some settings might reset to defaults.
