My Master Photo Disk is acting strangly and I decided to use my Backup Disk to access pics in LR classic.

The program does not recognize the disk and I don't know how to fix this. I have a Mac.

Well the good news is that you have a backup drive!

OK, couple of questions: Where's the catalog located, on the drive or on your hard drive?

You say you're on a Mac, what OS?

Have you tried double-clicking your catalog?

Lightroom Classic does not "recognize" disks. You have to tell LRC to use a different disk. Please follow these instructions (particularly Figure 4): http://www.computer-darkroom.com/lr2_find_folder/find-folder.htm
