Hello,

I'm facing a problem. I upgraded from Lr6 (where everything went fine) to LrC today. I'm trying to open the catalog where I stocked all the infos, data and treatment of my pictures. But It seems no pictures is linked with the catalog which is very strange because I worked with it all the time and my 45000 pictures were classified! Is it an issue from the upgrade? I still have all my pictures in an extrenal hard drive but it depresses me to REclassified everything! Did I do a mistake during the LrC installation? Do you think I can recover the catalog? My computer is macbook pro (2012) with High Sierra (Maybe I have to update it also?)

Thank you very much.

R.

Your title says: "empty of photos". Your text says: "no pictures is linked". These are not the same. Can you explain further and show us a screen capture or three to illustrate the problem.

Hello dj_paige

I'll try to explain it better. Sorry for my English, it's not my mother language.

Yesterday, I worked with the old LR version (The sixth). everything went right. Today, I decided to subscribe to the creative cloud one. I downloaded the latest version for my computer (High Sierra at that moment) and tried to upload the only catalog I have. The new version of LR didn't find any pictures linked to the catalog. I closed the new version and opened the old one, The LR6. Unfortunately, the old version didn't find any photo in the catalog either! All my photos are in a different hard drive and they are safe, happily.

I upgraded the macbook pro from High Sierra to Catalina. Nothing changes.

What can I do now to load the catalog with all my photos?

Thank you.

Other problem I noticed it's the creatice cloud app.

You can see (even if it's in French) the Photoshop app is updated. But you can see also I can't open it!

I checked on my application page if I have it. And no, I don't have Photoshop in my application tab.

I think I did a mistake somewhere but where?

I just want to work on my photos!

Check the menue "Recent Catalog" (I don't konw excat how it looks like on a MAC, I'm a Windows user) if there are other catalog are listed.

Hello Axel Matt,

Yes i'm sure I opened the right catalog. Just because I have only one catalog  with all my pictures on it.

I don't know what's happening but it's really annoying.

Thank you.

You need to find the old catalog that you were using in LR 6. You can do a search using your operating system's search feature, for all files on all disks whose name ends with .LRCAT, and then open each on in Lightroom Classic (by double-clicking on it) until you find the catalog that shows your photos.

LATEST

Your second and third screenshots shows Lightroom Desktop rather than Lightroom Classic. Whilst the two applications share a name they don't share a catalog. The application you need to downlaod is 'Lightroom Classic' and the latest version is 10.1.1
