Q1.  How do you move pictures to an external hard drive?  I know it is supposed to be drag and drop, except that there are so many folders that I cannot seem to drag from January 2020 to the new drive, etc. since it will not reach.  Also, are there any other things that need to be moved in this regard.  Thank you.

In order for Lightroom Classic to keep track of the images, it is best to handle them through the Lightroom application. I think you'll find this link helpfule.

Use Windows File Explorer or Finder to move and relink the folders as outlined at the below article. Drag the TOP-MOST-LEVEL folder to the new drive location so you maintain the folder structure.

If any of the folders are arranged within a "master" folder then you can just move the master folder and all of the subfolders will follow automatically.
