Nikon Z50 RAW not supported in LR

Nikon Z50 RAW support is incorrect. Can't see lightroom previews on import running 9.1 LR and 12.1 Camera Raw where the list of supported cameras for 12.1  include the Z50.  Am I missing something?

I just downloaded a sample Z 50 raw from dpreview.com and it imported into my LR 9.1.  As a first troubleshooting step, do the menu command Help > System Info and triple-check you're running Lightroom Classic 9.1. The first line should be:

Lightroom Classic version: 9.1 [ 201911291132-64cf80b4 ]

The Creative Cloud update process not infrequently fools people into thinking they're on the "latest".

"Can't see lightroom previews on import"

If you are indeed on 9.1, then please provide more detail about what's happening. Do you mean that when you do Import, you don't see any thumbnails for the Z 50 .nef files in the selected card or folder?

Thanks for the prompt response.

My version of LR Classic is the same as yours.   When I import images off the Z50 it says "Preview not available" in lieu of picture icons/previews.

That's in the Import window, right?  What happens when you click the Import button at the bottom of the Import window?

1. What is your OS, perhaps MACOS 10.15.2?

2. Are you attempting to import from the card in the camera, or from the card in the card reader?

More info which may help.  Preview not available only is for .NEF files, I can see previews for .MP4 and. MOV files on the camera's SD card during the import process

Please post your System Information as Lightroom Classic reports it. In Lightroom click on Help. then System Info, Copy, paste into a reply, info from first line down to just past plug-in info.

I have no idea why LR's system info doesn't include a video card, Directx info, etc..  Ihave 2 AMD Radeon HD 6800 series cards with crossfire disabled.  DirectX 12 is also installed. and dxdiag shows no issues with the system.(In this post I can't attach a .txt file to shows dxdiag results)

Also the "No Preview Available" shows in LR CC on my laptop which also has a discrete video card.

I do not think this is a system configuration issue, but perhaps something is not right with Camera Raw or LR supporting this camera.

Lightroom does not use the Adobe Camera RAW plug-in. Camera RAW is internally coded into Lih=ghtroom.

So two GPU cards that are identical.

And I assume they are using the same driver.

Consider a clean install of that driver

Consider as a test disabling or even removing one card

And the cards are not connected? Then curious, why two cards.

See solution 4 in part at: https://helpx.adobe.com/lightroom-classic/kb/troubleshoot-gpu.html#solution-4

Clean driver install same problem. 2 cards are the same and can be
strapped together to support accelerated gaming. Look up "amd crossfire"
They are currently separate, one card for each monitor I
I saw in your Gpu article no mention of my problem. The system is very
stable and this error occurs on both of my computers. Can we agree it's
highly likely this is NOT a gpu issue, and move on?

Moreover image previews are fine using .nef files from my Nikon dx5600

Graphics Processor Info:

Odd that the info on your GPU comes up blank. Is this a laptop, and if so does it only have an integrated video controll, no actual descreat GPU?

What is your Integrated Video controll?

What is, if any, your descreat GPU?

an integrated video control, is the controll on the motherboard, be it a laptop or Desktop, that provides (normally) rudementry video capability.

The discrete GPU, is the add on, a seperate chip set on a Laptop, a card in a desktop that provides advanced graphics controll, usually has a faster processor chip, usually has its own memory in the form of video RAM.

Would have expected to see make/model, and GPU driver, also would exspect to see (for Window) DirectX 12 (good) or OpenGL (bad)

Ah, so not using two identical GPU's to boost redraw's, etc for high end games, but to run seperate monitors.

So, looks like Lightroom Classic is having issues determining what GPU to use, and defaults perhaps to integrated video controller on motherboard (assumption)

two inquiry's to follow based on that.

2. Not to remove one of the GPU's or to accomplish something long term, heck even short term, But in the Windows OS, in the Device Manager, for The display cards, you should see at least three entry's, the integrated video, and one each for the GPU's. What happens if you temporarily disable one of the GPU's. Note, a reboot probably required, and espect an error message.

Hmm, AMD utility software for your GPU's probably has some setting appropriate to your working environment, to make the GPU's work with Lightroom Classic. Not familiar with AMD being a NAVIDA user, and I am remembering some tweet in the NAVIDIA controll panel in that direction.

Switchable Graphics??

I have also disabled one GPU, with no change.

As far as the advanced radeon utilities, they are not availble on the Catalyst Control center which I have in instead of

"Radeon Settings" application mentioned in the article.
