When using Lightroom Classic without internet, e.g. on the road, LR only starts with an error message. How can I avoid this ?

From this help article- https://helpx.adobe.com/au/creative-cloud/kb/internet-connection-creative-cloud-apps.html

"You can use the apps in offline mode with a valid software license for a limited period. The apps attempt to validate your software license every 30 days*. You receive a reminder to reconnect to the Internet to validate your license:"

I suggest before you leave (on the road)- Sign Out AND Sign In to the CC Desktop APP. Do NOT Sign-Out again. This resets your 'validation' calendar to start the 30day count (*or 90days if subs paid annually) .

Or you need only connect to Adobe servers on any Internet connection to validate. (eg. Public Internet access, a Mobile Phone hotspot)

Regards. My System: Lightroom-Classic 13.2 Photoshop 25.5, ACR 16.2, Lightroom 7.2, Lr-iOS 9.0.1, Bridge 14.0.2, Windows-11.

Hi WobertC,

thanks for your answer.

My problem is that for some weeks during my expedition I have no connection at all.

As the document explains, it should be possible to work without internet for 30 days.

But it does not work.
Lightroom Start one network is not possible.
Adobe Support is working on the problem.

What error message do you get?

Are you signing out of the Adobe Creative Cloud application?Or are you signing out from Lightroom Classic? If not don't do this, and you should have 30 days.

I don't sign out.

My Lightroom shows the following error on two computers:
After double-clicking LR-Icon, an error window appears with a long error log and the question whether I want to send it to Adobe. Then it ends.

With Internet everything works fine.

These are not error messages because your Lightroom Classic has been disabled because you are offline. These are messages because there is a malfunction somewhere in the software or hardware, although I have no idea where. If your license could not be confirmed to be active because you are offline, you would get very different error messages and there would not be a crash report that you could send to Adobe.

Just tried it by disconnecting my laptop from all wireless and wired networks and Classic starts just fine. I've done this many times when traveling and haven't had any problem running Classic. Something else must be wrong.

Stop

I need to ask one question

Your copy of the Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop app

Do you ever sign out?

Do not sign out. Doing so deactivates the various programs like LrC. Signing back in will activate them, but you need internet access to do so.

All Adobe subscribers run the app. The Adobe Creative Cloud Desktop App. It is running in the background.

This app is used to:

Authenticate license with Adobe Servers

Install the various programs, PS, LR, LrC, Bridge, ACR, etc

Check for updates/upgrades

Update/upgrade

Activate the various Adobe CC  programs on your computer

ACCDA.png

Deactivate the various Adobe CC rograms on your computer

If you sign out of it, your various Adobe CC programs get deactivated.~

Nobody said you must deactivate anything. They only said that you can do it this way if you want to. Keep the CC app running, and stay logged in.
