Not letting me sign in: Access Denied

I keep getting this alert and it will not go away or even let me quit lightroom. I have this account through my university and it redirects me to their sign in and then returns to this message. Any advice? The university IT department does not seem to help with adobe.

The thought that comes to mind is if  you can login on  your personal computer and create a synced collction you might be able to access your images (smart previews) and make  your edits int eh browser version at lightroom.adobe.com. It isn't one for one in that the interface is different and you won't  be able to use the healing brush and othere differences but there is still a  lot  that  you can do.
