I have an older program Lightroom 4, which I am perfectly happy with, except that a friend helped me to shoot a wedding using a newer camera, a Nikon D7100, and the old program does not recognize the files.  Does anyone know of a patch I can use for Lightroom 4 particularly that will rectify this problem?  I do not want to get into a monthly fee for a newer Lightroom version.  I am also having the same problem with Photoshop, Creative Suites 5.  Thank you for your help!

You'll need to convert the NEF files to DNG in order to work on your version of Lightroom, which can be done using Adobe's free DNG converter.

There is a link in the fourth paragraph to download the converter for either Windows or Mac OS.
