Hello, when I'm using masking (I press Alt and move the slider), the computer reboot.

The computer is brand new and fully updated (I always updating the windows, software and even firmware). I had that problem; I've been told to disable the Turbo boost from the bios and I thought this is it...

But last week I format my PC cause the windows was old and half of it was an upgrade and I had few problems with the printer. All of a sudden, the problem came back and I wonder why?

The temperature is fine, the CPU is 36-37C and the GPU is 56C and It's look OK to me...
I've tried to disable the GPU accelerator but it moves like turtle... It's only happening when I'm doing the masking. I've unchecked the shutdown after hardware failure but it still happening. I also disabled that

On windows advance settings nothing seems to work. I need the lightroom classic cause I post sometimes for magazines.

This is my PC
I9 9000 (the regular model, I couldn't pay for the K version)

Corsair Hydro Series H115i Pro

Gigabyte Z390 Gamimg X

32GB DDR4

1TB SSD Samsung Evo 840 (Yes it's old but it's works great).

1TB HDD

Nvidia 2070 RTX

750W PSU

Please, I need the to fix it.

Thanks

Anthony

Do you have install the newest version of the driver for the graphic card?

If no, please try to install the latest driver, if yes then try an older one. Sometimes the newest driver are buggy.

Do you get an error message when the machine crashed? If yes please post the exact error message or post an screenshot.

Yes, as I worte I always updating everything to the latest. I don't think doing a rollback driver will fix it and I don't want to creat some problem with the graphic card driver.

No I not getting any error, it's just reboot without any warning. Only on Lightroom.

In addition to the John's post please also check the Windows logs.

Maybe there is something to be found

"it's just reboot without any warning. Only on Lightroom."

When computers stop or restart using LR, the two most common causes are buggy graphics drivers and overheating due (usually due to clogged fans).  (Neither LR nor any other application can directly cause a Windows 10 computer to restart.)  LR can stress the CPU and GPU more than most other apps, including most games, using much more power, and if the cooling isn't working properly, the computer will stop abruptly.

Your NVIDIA driver version is 27.21.14.5671, which Google indicates was released 10/7/20, so that's up-to-date.  (The issue could still be a bug in the driver that's provoked with your particular graphics card.)

"The temperature is fine"

You don't say how you determined this. I recommend installing the free Intel Power Gadget, which will give you reliable temperature readings.

If Intel Power Gadget confirms the temperature is zooming up when you run LR, then the next step is to examine the Windows crash logs:

https://www.google.com/search?q=where+to+find+windows+crash+logs&rlz=1C5CHFA_enUS921US921&oq=where+t...

When you updated the GPU driver, did you select custom install type as to force a clean install?

When I installed the Nvidia driver I did the regular installation because it was after formatting the PC.

I also did few changes in the Nvidia settings from this video:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IYbXKBMn9EE&ab_channel=SlothyTech

in the past I already did it and nothing happen,

I don't know what happen now after the formatting the problem came back, I thought it was the Turbo boost of Intel.

When I disabled it it's gone, and it's still disabled and that problem still going...

About the 4K you're right, I bought a hell of a monitor (Samsung U32j59x) , without dimming light at all.

I can't turn off the resolution cause it's way better for me, but when it comes to Lightroom I don't really need it,

I've tried to turn off the GPU accelerator and it barely moved; I had no other option but to turn in back.

I will appreiciate if you can tell me what to do. Thanks

In this video, I will show you how to optimize your NVIDIA Control Panel settings to achieve the absolute best performance possible while gaming. The settings shown in the video prioritize the performance of the GPU while trying to maintain the quality of our graphics. Be sure to take a look at ...

So a nice 4K resolution, yes I know, paid for, want.

But, as a diagnostic, as this is a Windows PC, hence you can decrease the resolution (as opposed to just scaling) try reducing it, and turn use Graphics Processor off (does not help much under 4K) and see if sluggish, see if crash.

So the computer is no longer rebooting when you use LR?

If it starts rebooting again, then install the Intel Powergadget and configure it to log the temperature to a text file.  Then after the computer reboots, you can see what the temperature was immediately before.

Also, look at the Windows logs as described in the links I and Axel provided.

Sometimes he reboot (only when I do the masking), few times not. I don't why...

I just downloaded what you told me, I got 39C - 43C with "Playing" with the masking.

That's a normal temperature. If it gets close to 100C then it will shut down.

Yeah, but it feels like even lower than that it's happening, I'm not a heavy user, but it still happens from time to time. I just downloaded MSI Afterburner also to speed up the fan a bit, I hope it will change something.

If it reboots at temperatures much lower than 100C, then it's most likely not a cooling issue.

Look in the Windows logs to see if there are "events" logged right before the computer restarts.

Here you'll find informations about Volume Shadow Copy:

https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-server/storage/file-server/volume-shadow-copy-service

Please try to deactivate this service and check if the issue persists. But I'm not sure if this is the reason for your problem. But test it.

"DirectX: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2070 (27.21.14.5671)"

456.71 is a Game Ready driver. Uninstall this driver and then install the Studio Driver 456.38 at the below link. During the install under Intsallation Options select 'Custom' and then select 'Perform a clean installation.'

I just did that, and after that I had to do this video in order to get better performace:

Do think it's causing some problems?

Second I saw on GeForce Experience that there's Game Ready driver to download, I didn't downloaded it,
How can I know when there's a new Studio driver?
I never used it before.

Thanks!

Goto the NVidia download site (https://www.nvidia.de/Download/index.aspx?lang=en ) and search for your type of graphic card the approriate driver. In the field "Download type" you choose "Studio Driver (SD)"

"I just did that, and after that I had to do this video in order to get better performace."

That video is for improving gaming performance. The only setting that might affect LrC performance is the 3D setting for Power Management mode, which should be set to 'Prefer Maximum Performance.' Is LrC still rebooting or did the Studio Driver installation fix that issue?

"How can I know when there's a new Studio driver?"

If you're not using this system for playing games I would stop using the GeForce Experience application. Once you have a stable driver version it's best not to change it unless you have an issue after a LrC or PS update

"And I also downloaded MSI Afterburner. I'm not a gamer but form time to time I love to do some pratice on a simulator (DCS World)."

Given that you have stability issues I suggest not trying to over-clock your GPU or CPU with MSI Afterburner or manually changing the BIOS settings from the defaults. You have plenty of compute power and you're not a gamer so very little to be gained and a lot to lose from over-clocking. Just a suggestion. For DCS World you could use the NVIDIA control panel to enter custom settings in the 'Manage 3D Settings' > 'Program Settings' tab that are specific to that program .exe. Example:

I didn't touch the Bios, I only had to disable the Turbo boost (that what people told me),

But it wasn't enough, about MSI Afterburner. This is what I did but I do happy with the-

Result and the temperature are looking good, correct me if I wrong?

I will do what you told me in Nvidia settings.

I hope it's over…

Thanks!
