hello,
when I browse photos in Lightroom sometimes they switch quickly, sometimes they switch very slow (like 3-5 seconds), I think it may be related to previews
I mean the loupe view ("E") of Library module, I use left and right arrows to browse the photos
Is there a way to make it work fast, i.e. to see next photo immediately after hitting an arrow? Are previews generated on demand? Is there a way to force all previews to be generated before I start browsing?
Are you building 1:1 previews at Import?

When I import I see:
"build previews: minimal"
and "build smart previews" in unchecked
should I change that?

You want it to appear as shown in my screen capture in the red outline. That should speed up your browsing.
There are other settings that might help as well, under Catalog Settings/File Handling, select "Never" next to "Automatically Discard 1:1 previews" although this will take up more disk space, if you feel you have the space on the drive with the Catalog file.

Thank you.
Is there a way to generate these previews on already imported folder or do I need to reimport it?

In Lightroom Classic, select the desired photos and then Library->Previews->Build 1:1 Previews

Adding: re-importing photos almost never solves anything and usually makes things worse. Next time you think that maybe you should re-import, don't think that and don't do that.
