Yes, the X-T3 has been supported since Camera Raw 11.0 and Lightroom Classic CC 8.0.
What exactly does the error message in Lightroom and Photoshop say? Can you post screenshots?

Lightroom Classic: "Some import operations could not be performed.
The files appear to be unsupported or damaged" (the files appear to be fine, they open in irfanview on my ntb)
Photoshop just gives the standard windows-based error message in my local language File Format Invalid.
tried printscreen but it pastes monstrously huge in here
thank you!

What operating system are you using? If an older version of Mac OS X then all you can use is an older version of LR and Photoshop.
So please state the exact version of the OS you are using.

mitford is clearly using windows though. The error message in photoshop really does look like file damage so sharing a file might be helpful (upload to dropbox and post the link here). The fact they open in irfan view is no indication that the file is intact as it probably just shows you the embedded jpeg preview and not the actual raw data. It could also be that you have older versions of Lightroom Classic and Photoshop installed for some reason. So check the Lightroom version and report it here.

The newest version of LR and PS do not run on Win 8.1 or on older version of Win 10.
