Hi,

I'm lead to beleive that I can store and edit my images via smart preveiws on a drive SEPERATE to the drive that stores the remaining/RAW catalog.

For example SSD contains only 'Cataloge.Name.2-v10 Smart Previews.lrdata'

While RAID drive contains all other remaing LRcat related files and folders.

How can I implement this? I've already checked the box 'Lightroom preferences > Performance > Use Smart Previews instead of Originals for image editing'.

I've tried opening LR from the smartpreviews.lrdata file. No luck. When I open LR from the dock or Finder it does not show or recognise the SSD

The smart previews are automatically placed on the same drive as the Catalog file itself. If you want these Smart Previews on an SSD, then the catalog file should be on the SSD.
