Teather capture in Lightroom classic with a canon R5

Is there a way to capture with the canon R5 camera? lightroom says no camera connected. cant figure out how to get it recognized

There are two options here: to tether at all, see if YOUR camera is listed:

But there's another option, Live tether which is only available to these cameras:

 

The following Canon camera models support Live View in Lightroom Classic:
  • Canon EOS 5D Mark III.
  • Canon EOS 5D Mark IV.
  • Canon EOS 6D.
  • Canon EOS 5D Mark II.
  • Canon EOS 7D.
  • Canon EOS 80D.
  • Canon EOS 5DS.
