Adobe never tells us this in advance. When support is announced, we will all find out about it together.

Hi there,
As of now there is no official word regarding the tethering support for Canon's EOS RP camera.
However, you may follow this article as it gets updated with the supported cameras frequently. A list of cameras that can be tethered to Lightroom Classic and Lightroom 6

Sahil

February 2020 and still no thetering possible between EOS RP and Lightroom.
i am using Thetertools cable and still the computer (MAC or Windows) does not recognizes the camera.
the listed link was last updated in MAY 2019 version 8.3. and now Lightroom classic is version 9.2, and still no news about supported cameras.
Also to mention that i have regular thetering problems with IQ3 Phase One digital support.

May 6, 2020 - I have LR6. If I start a tethered capture, Lightroom's capture bar shows "Canon EOS RP" for about 1 second, then flickers to "No Camera Detected", and cycles back to "Canon EOS RP" repeatedly.
Is this behaviour of an incompatible camera model, or some other glitch? For the record I can capture using the EOS utility without trouble, so it isn't the USB connection flickering, just the Lightroom capture bar.

I too am the recent "un-proud" owner of an RP. Using a Macbook running Catalina 10.15.5, I also get the same "capture bar looping" between "no camera" and "Canon EOS RP". From all my googling, there is no solution... and from everything I've seen, it does not seem to be a problem Canon/Adobe/Apple care to solve.
Time to dump this 10 day old camera on eBay and maybe look at a different manufacturer/setup.
