When I toggle the brushes on/off by using the small icon at bottom LH side of panel. It turns on/off all brushes used on the image. I just want to see the on/off effect of the last brush I just used. Is there a way of doing this??

You could use the history panel. Just click on the previous state.

Yes there is - use Before/After. You can do the same thing for any single latest adjustment, or for any sequence of latest adjustments.
By default, Before/After compares latest editing against the initial editing state - meaning right at import, as first seen. However you can choose any other editing state in the History panel, as the one to be compared against.
To do that, right-click on that editing state and select "Copy Settings to Before" - meaning, this is now the "Before" part of the comparison while your latest editing is still the "After". The "\" key while in Develop, toggles this Before/After comparison alternating the image states; showing those side by side; in split screen view depending on the options chosen in the Toolbar.
Before/After does not actually return the image to this earlier state, so it is not necessary to remember to click back onto latest state before you make your next edit.
History panel is great for "reviewing back in time" but CAUTION: if you have rolled back History to an earlier image state, the rolled-back steps remain (in grey) so that you can roll forward again. But if you make the smallest fresh edit, those grey rolled-back steps disappear. Your image has a different History timeline which now does not include those.

Thanks Richard. both of these can work. It would be so much easier if there was a keyboard shortcut like Shift \ that might just toggle the last edit on and off. It would also be good to be able to make any filter or brush point active and see a before and after. And yes I will use caution as you said. I have been caught out with that a couple of times. Thanks!
