Unable to email photos from LrC 10.1

Unable to email photos from LrC 10.1. using Gmail. Get the message unable to verify the server. Tried to follow troubleshooting documentation from Adobe with no result. Read that other users have similar experiences. Obviously, Adobe has not revised its mail interface for some time. One of the mail options is AOL. Who is using that today? I send out photos all the time and it is really tedious to export and attach pictures to Emails. Adobe, please fix this issue ASAP.
