In some of my folders that belong to external drives such as CD or DVD, the preview has disappeared. When I try to restore them, this takes hours to complete just a few previews.
Does it have any solution?

Keep all images on a harddrive not a cd or dvd.

I would expect the previews for the old images to age out of the preview cache due to a lack of use.
Taking hours to regenerate the the needed previews after inserting the DVD seems odd.
Mac or Windows? Which version?
Which NUMBER version of Lightroom?
Internal or external DVD drive? If external, what connection type?
