Lightroom Mobile (iPad): Crash on import

Community Expert ,
Dec 30, 2019 Dec 30, 2019
With the new update I am unable to import more that about 10-20 raw files before Lightroom crashes. Can cr.2 files from SD card attached via cable. Closes the app completely.Note: This conversation was created from a reply on: Lightroom Mobile: Allow Direct Importing images into iPad with ios 13.

Suzanne, I find no crash reports from you under the email you've used on this forum. Do you use a different email?
Do you get a crash report dialog?
Is the dialog from the OS or Adobe?
If no dialog then it sounds like a hardware failure - likely memory.

No crash report. Lightroom just shuts down. Ipad pro 9.7".
Thanks for responding. I am trying to find a viable way to use ipad while traveling and syncing back to classic via synced collection. It all works except for the direct import issue.

Ah, I missed this was an iPad. Apologies

What is the free space on the iPad?
How old is the iPad?
I assume you are on iOS 13.3? Lightroom 5.1 for iPad?
Have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the App?

Ok. That is a 2016 iPad Air and should meet specs no problem.

  1. Restart the iPad
  2. Launch Lightroom
  3. As soon as it crashes, restart Lightroom and immediately create a log file.
Instructions:

iOS Log File

can be triggered when you  open up the  Lr Mobile settings and  then navigate in to the Help & Support section and long-press (2-3 sec) “Access our Support Forum”-entry and a  diagnostic log will be generated and attached to your local mail client.

I will send you an email with the instructions where to send.
