Simone,

You've posted this to Lightroom Mobile - Which device are you using - Android or iOS? I am able to post to Instagram right now with no issue.

I have similar issue can't share to Instagram Feed, get the message "picture could not be loaded". Same error on both my Huawei tablet and my Samsung Note 8,
Note that I can share to other platforms such as Facebook and I can share to Instagram feed from the photo gallery on the the device.
The strange thing is also that it is possible to share to Instagram Stories and Direct from Lightroom

Exporting photos from LR mobile to Instagram worked fine for years till now. The photo I select in LR mobile to share manages to open Instagram for a second or two, then it reverts back to LR mobile with an error message saying 'unable to load image'. I have uninstalled LR mobile and re-installed it but no improvement there. I have uninstalled Instagram and re-installed it as well. No improvement either. I have tried sharing photos that were already shared on Insta before, the problem still persists. I am out of options.

Would appreciate any suggestions you may have. Thanks!

Greetings,

We are currently working with Instagram to get a fix issued for this problem.

We've had unofficial reports that updating your Instagram app to 136.0.0.34.124 has fixed this issue for some users. Has anyone on this thread tried it?

Update 12/04/2020: If you continue to experience this issue you may need to go to iOS Settings>Instagram and make sure Photos is set to All Photos.

Since the most recent update I can no longer export an image from LR Mobile for iPad to Instagram. Instead it opens a dialogue box to "Share To" which does not work even if I select Instagram as the recipient.
The export function is still present in the Creative Cloud App on my iPad which allows a work around but it is not ideal.

One of the main reason why I loved Lightroom Mobile so much was because of its ability to export images to Instagram as a story or post. But then with one of these recent updates, I’ve lost that ability. Please fix this, Adobe. You guys are the best 👍🏾

i thought it was just me, reached out to folks over at adobe and logged out, uninstalled and reinstalled lightroom mobile and still i can't upload to instagram. I've tried sending a message to instagram tech support, hopefully they'd catch up on this soon... I'm able to share to other social media platforms, but i'm more active in instagram that's why this got me really annoyed hahah... i hope we get a fix on this soon.

ps. i got this problem when i updated my iOS last night to 14. Wondering if apple had something to do with it as well hahah.

Obviously, everyone is having these issues, so I don't need to report ME TOO!  But I do need to state that there used to be two options:  1.  Open in Instagram and 1. Copy to Instagram.  The open in (when LR is involved in the posting only allows for VERY limited posting capabilities and then you have to go to Instagram to EDIT the post.  But the COPY TO INSTAGRAM option was always much better because it sent the image to Instagram's app and opened it in Instagram where you had the ability to do a full post with all the links and tags etc.  I would like to see that COPY TO INSTAGRAM  come back too.  The LR centric option was always problematic because there wasn't enough true integration.

By the way, I will say that LR will export to Facebook and any other app.  Just not to Instagram.  So that should help you figure out where the issue is.  However, I still would prefer that LR give options to simply OPEN or COPY the photo INTO the social media app and let the social media app take over from there... unless of course, LR can fully integrate.  If not, just make the connection and let the real app do the posting work (like captioning and sharing and tagging).

It seems as though the option to instruct Instagram's app to just open the photo like asking Google Keep, or Apple Notes or Mail to open it would be the simplest method to circumvent some change to Instagram.  The problem is, LR seems to have changed its entire method for connecting to all of the apps on the phone by wanting to do the writing of the post inside the Lightroom app rather than in the app the photo is being sent to.  Which again, should only be done is LR can actually fully integrate with the app.  Otherwise, LR should just push the image to open up the app and instruct the app to start using that photo.  That seems like the simplest path to all integrations with other applications.

I'm on IOS and the option "Copy to Instagram" when I choose Open In is gone. I can no longer post to Instagram directly from Lightroom Mobile. Pretty annoying, since the Open in Instagram option has very limited functions.

Hi,

thank you for reporting this.

Which version are you running into this with and which device?
If this error occurred after you selected Instagram, we can't easily tell.

It might help to know which Instagram version you are using,
If you share the image to e.g. your Camera Roll, does it work to share the image to Instagram then?

Thanks,
Ignacio

It would help to know what you are sharing to Instagram, JPG, TIF, Original or DNG.
If you share other images from e.g. Photos app, do they also fail?

Thanks,
Ignacio

It seems like this is an Instagram issue, it probably helps more if you check with them.
