 Issue:

The filmstrip in Lightroom CC 5.4 is not shown in Compare view (and the filmstrip icon is greyed out).

Lightroom version: Lightroom version: 5.4 x64 [ 20220607-0605-ab0fd72 ] (Jun 7 2022)
OS and version: Windows 10

Steps to reproduce the behavior:

Step 1 : In Detail or Edit view, switch OFF the filmstrip by clicking on the filmstrip icon (bottom right corner)
Step 2 : Go to Compare view by clicking on Compare icon (bottom left corner)

Expected result: Lightroom should show the filmstrip in the bottom on the screen (or at least have the filmstrip icon not greyed out to be able to activate it).
Actual result: Lightroom doesn't show the filmstrip and the filmstrip icon (in the bottom right corner) is greyed out.

I forgot to say that the issue only appear if I only have 1 picture selected.

So here are the updated steps to reproduce the behavior:

Step 1 : Select ONLY 1 picture in Grid view

Step 2 : Go in Detail or Edit view and switch OFF the filmstrip by clicking on the filmstrip icon (bottom right corner)
Step 3 : Go to Compare view by clicking on Compare icon (bottom left corner)

If more than one picture is selected in Grid view and I go to Compare view (regardless of doing the step 2), the filmstrip is correctly shown.

But then the filmstrip icon is not greyed out anymore.

I'm not sure what should be the correct behavior of the filmstrip icon when I'm in Compare view but at least this not coherent.

Thanks for reporting this issue.

We will track it internally and should fix it in the next release.

In the meantime, you could reverse this behaviour by going back into Detail or Edit view and turning on the Filmstrip (button near the bottom right or shortcut '/' or View->Filmstrip)
