Hi, Sorry you're having trouble.

Would you tell us the specific steps you are taking? Which Masking tools were you trying to use?

If you want to provide a screen recording that would be cool.  Here are instructions - https://apple.co/3azEld8 /rs

Thanks,

it was crashing when I tried the new subject select mask, and the sky select mask.

I just tried something different, The images I was trying that on we're already edited. So I just reset the image back to original import, and both the subject select and sky select mask work fine now. It only crashes when I try to use both of those new features on a previously edited image. It also made the screen recording stop and crash also.

I also just noticed now, if I start editing a photo from original. And then do the subject select or the sky select after some editing has been done it will crash. But if I do either one of those first and then it works fine

Thanks for the information.

You could try force quitting all apps and restarting your device.
It may also help to clear your cache. In the app go to Settings > Local Storage > click "Clear Cache."

Does that help?

Still crashes when trying to select/identify the mask, and now it won't load older photos to be able to edit them. I attached a screen record of that.

So,

I think I figured it out.
I noticed the cloud back up was "thinking", I clicked on that it was paused. So I let it finish all the backups, like 160 photos. Now that it's done, everything seems to be working fine.

I will update if anything changes. Thanks for the help.

I've got the same behaviour - I'll try the tip for waiting for cloud sync to stop.
Would be good to see this fixed.

@RIKIDO5EE9 if you get stuck in this state, please tap on the cloud icon.
It will normally give some kind of message about what's going on.

Yep. I'm still having this problem. It'll start "detecting" then it'll disconnect my bluetooth and system will crash. Then I have to back to redo the edits I just did. Really frustrating.

I am experiencing the same issue. Whenever I try to use "Select Sky" or " Select Subject"; the Mobile App on my Samsung S5e crashes 100% of the time. I've tried clearing the cache and force stopping the app (as suggested above), also uninstalled and reinstalled the app but to no avail.

I've been having the same issue on my Galaxy tablet and phone, however I noticed when you payse syncing before using the masking tool the feature works smooth and absolutely no crash. Hope this works.

It sounds as if you might run into memory issues, which causes the app to be killed.

What would help would be to know if a device restart helps.
In case of any app causing system memory leaks this should help.
In case it doesn't, it would be great to know what kind of images and dimensions you experience this with.

thanks,
Ignacio

Hi! Thanks for the reply. I have over 10GB of free storage left on my iPhone. Somehow, if I uninstall the app and reinstall, the mask does work as long as I do not add any new pictures on the lightroom app, if I do add new pictures, the mask will start crashing again & I have to repeat the unistall & reinstall process of the app. I'm experiencing this with any image taken on my fujifilm camera, images are around 26MP, 4160x6240, ~17.3MB.
