Hi, I've recently subscribed to Lightroom and am being met with this error message upon trying to import any images.

'Some photos were not added. Unable to copy file.'

I've seen 2 other posts on here of the same issue but the solutions posted there didn't work.

I'm using windows 10, imported the files from my SD card to my hard drive. I am then trying to import to lightroom from my hard drive.

Thanks in advance

Greetings,

Updates for Adobe Photography products began rolling out Tuesday night, August 16th,  The updates contain a fix for this issue.

If you do not see the update in your Creative Cloud Application, you can refresh it by hitting [Ctrl/Cmd]+[Alt/Opt]+[ R ].

Note: It may take up to 24 hours for your update to be available in your Creative Cloud app.

Thank you for your patience.

If you are seeing this error and had downloaded Lightroom from the Microsoft Store, please try installing Lightroom from https://www.adobe.com/products/photoshop-lightroom.html instead.

For others, I wonder if you could be running low on disk space? We should be giving proper messaging if so, but that's the current theory I'm trying to run down. You can tell Lightroom to take up less space locally by going to Edit > Preferences > Local Storage and reducing the "photo cache size"LocalStorage.png

I'd appreciat

My workaround is to log into Adobe Classic online to upload pics. It takes
about 15 minutes for 500 pics. Classic doesn't have all the features I
need. So then I use the Windows App and the pics show up in the file I
saved them to.

Takes longer, but it works for me. Adobe seems to be ignoring the App
glitch.

I have this same issue for months now. It comes and goes. It drives me crazy. I have been chatting with the Adobe costumer service, they were in my computer, tried everything and couldnt solve it. 2 days later one of the other collegues called me and went into my laptop as wel. He said it was because of my One Drive, this isnt correct. It even happens when i upload pictures directly from my SD card. And it isnt correct anyways, because when i import and start working on photos one by one, i dont change anything and still the issue comes up again. Please Adobe, im practically begging, im so delate with my photoshoots, clients are getting impatient and im stil paying for your services every month. You should have find a solution by now!

With the October update, all of a sudden Lightroom will not import all photos, neither from my camera disk or from pictures downloaded on my computer. The message is simply : Unable to copy files.

Adobe Photshop Express and Photoshop do not have any issues with opening and editing.

It looks like there's a bug which Adobe are investigating. See this thread:https://community.adobe.com/t5/lightroom-ecosystem-cloud-based-bugs/p-some-photos-were-not-added-una...

Please add your vote to that thread so that Adobe can keep an accurate count of the number users affected.

I'd appreciate if a few people could give this a try and let us know if that helped.

I can't seem to add more than 6 RAW files at a time before getting a message telling me "some photos were not added". If I close the program and re-open, I can add another few photos before the same message appears. I have uninstalled and re-installed Lighroom and the issue prevails. I have no other information or error messages that I can see.

This issue has become the norm for me. I finally had enough after the update started slowing everything else down as well, and checked my storage. My isk space is fine. Has anyone been able to resolve this yet?

Julie at Adobe suggested I download Lightroom directly from Adobe (my
download was from the Microsoft Store), and I did not encounter any issues
today after doing that. Yeah

I'm trying to edit my pictures on Lightroom but it's not even letting me download the pictures from my SD card to the app. First I selected all 140ish and it only downloaded the first 9. It gave me an error message and said "These files could not be downloaded " so I clicked OK and tried it again. I re-clicked all the pictures I wanted to upload and after the second set of 9 pictures I got the same message. So then I just clicked on the first 9 pictures. And now it won't even upload those 😭

I'm having issues with Lightroom not uploading my photos. The issue is happening with my iPad Pro and the same thing with my windows computer. It uploads 5 or 6 out of a big selection then it says unable to save. I had spent time talking to their agent gave them access to my computer 3-4 different agents unable to fix it. I was told a senior technician will fix it.  It's been a week. No call backs or no updates.  I just took photos of an event last night.. I took about 800 photos and the issue has not been resolved. Anyone else having similar issues? I don't think it's my devices since it's happening to both iPad and windows laptop.

I am having the same issue. I only have about 200 to upload right now. I literally have to close the app and reopen it to download more but at 6-7 photos a time it is incredibly time consuming.

I'm sorry I don't know why Lightroom isn't uploading photos, but I'm curious if you have tried uploading through a browser at lightroom.adobe.com? I would try this on your computer first.

You're having the exact same issue as me.  The other day I spent over an hour uploading 70 photos from a headshot session.  When I had an agent and he logged into my system he uploaded a different set..  out of 350 he was able to upload a lot but took him two hours.

Seems like someone else it's having the same issue. It's very unreliable. I don't want to fall behind in my work and they seem careless.  I'll try that in a few mins but I don't understand how after taking to 4 different agents they were unable to fix the issue take them so long to escalate it. Even after they said they were going to I still haven't received a call back nor an email.  I'm looking for a program to replace this one.
