P: Sharpening - Masking Hinting (two-finger) has changed behavior

With the latest upgrade, the mask effect preview no longer works.  In the previous version, I can see this preview after tap and hold on the image after pressing the slider.  This feature also worked in the Light Panel when adjusting Black and White points.  This no longer works properly.  On this version, I can see the mask effect preview for a split second then it's gone.  Is this a bug introduced with the new version?  Or is there another method in gaining this functionality back?  Call me old school but I use this feature all the time in my edit workflow.

It appears to be functioning normally on my end (iPad Pro with 9.0 installed).

In global adjustments, long press shows before/after. Same with local adjustments.

Tapping the Mask's icon in the Mask panel should give you a context menu that allows you to Hide/Show the mask's adjustments.

I'm not sure we are talking about the same thing.  I'm not talking about the Masking function.  I'm talking about the Masking Slider under the Detail/Sharpening Panel.  In the previous version, tap and holding on the image while the Masking Slider is pressed shows the mask preview.  After I upgraded this feature no longer works.  Oddly enough, I also upgraded Lightroom for my iPhone to the latest version...that feature it still works as advertised so this appears to be an iPad OS issue.

The Masking - Sharpening Hint tool - I see.

It is working normally in Lightroom 9.0 on iPad.  Tap with two fingers on the slider and move, and it shows hints for the Sharpened and not-sharpened areas.  Or one finger on the image and one on the slider works also.  In any case, I do not see any difference in behavior from version 8.x.  Both behave the same as the iPhone.

Perhaps you could record a video showing the issue?

Tapping two fingers on the slider shows the clipping masks.  Before I access this feature by tapping and holding the image after I press the slider.  They must have changed it in this version as now if I tap and hold on the image it shows the Before view.  Thanks for this info...it was driving me crazy this morning.

Same issue. Added to lots of cpu use on my M2.

Adjusting the sharpness, touch on the screen to preview the edges, one second after goes away.

I need an easier way to see this mask on galaxy tab s9 plus.

I use the s pen to edit so using two fingers to tap and hold the mask slider is poor usability and frankly lazy.

Getting sick of adobe cutting corners with basic functionality.
