add photos option is greyed out in lightroom

Hi there, ive used lightroom before and i havent had any plans. I have a education account and have the plan that allows me access to most apps. Whenever i open lightroom, the add photos option is greyed out and im not able to do anything. I have tried signing in, re installing, everything. Im stuck 😕
