Hi everyone,

I’ve noticed that Lightroom (cloud version) offers a variety of community presets that can be used directly within the app. I’m wondering if it’s possible to download these community presets and install them in Lightroom Classic on my desktop.

If this is possible, could someone guide me through the process of exporting/importing these presets into Lightroom Classic?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Yes, that is possible. Right-click on a preset and choose 'Export'. Save it to disk. Then in Lightroom Classic use 'File - Import Develop Profiles and Presets'.

Hi Johann,

Thanks for your response! However, when I right-click on a web preset, it brings up the browser’s context menu, and there’s no "Export" option available. Maybe I’m doing something wrong or misunderstanding the process? Could you clarify how to access the export option?

Appreciate your help!

Best,
Marko

Don't use the Lightroom web interface, use the Lightroom desktop application. The app with this icon:

Hi Johan,

Unfortunately, I don't quite get it. Community presets are accessible through Lightroom on the web, and I’m not aware of any other way to access them. What do you mean by "use the Lightroom desktop application"? Are you saying that if I start Lightroom on my desktop, I can access community presets there as well? Would appreciate a bit more clarification.

Thanks,
Marko

I don't use these presets, but as far as I can see Lightroom desktop has the community presets too. Go to 'Community', hover your cursor over a photo that you like and you will see a 'Save Preset' button appear. Once you saved the preset you should be able to use the export method as I described earlier.

I use Lightroom Classic, so I believe this option is not available to me...

I know you use Lightroom Classic. You said you wanted the get those presets into Lightroom Classic. So I'm telling you that you need Lightroom desktop to do that. Save the preset in Lightroom desktop, then export it from Lightroom desktop to disk. Import it from disk into Lightroom Classic.
