Classic's auto-sync has never been available in Lightroom, so in order to apply Auto to multiple selected images you need to do a bit more work.

First, apply Auto to a single image, then Shift+Cmd+C to bring up the "Choose Edit Settings to Copy" dialog. There, uncheck all options that you don't want to paste to the other images and of course ensure that the "Auto Settings" box is checked

Then select all the images that you want to copy the Auto option to (you do this in the Grid or Filmstrip) and then do Shift+Cmd+V, which pastes the copied settings, including Auto, to all the selected images.
