Can't upload photos to lightroom after update

Now that I updated, and even slightly before lightroom now refuses to let me upload any photo on my computer. it gives me an error message that says "?:0: attempt to index a boolean value (1)", and updating it also deleted about 500 of my photos off of lightroom itself.

I don't know much about computers and all I want to do is just work on my photos.

Help!!

What version are you on? I am asking as Lightroom CC does not exist anymore. The name was changed to just Lightroom for the cloud version and Lightroom Classic for the local files based version a while ago. Lightroom CC might refer to an older installation on your machine. If you are referring to the current Lightroom 3.0 (cloud version) you can try uninstalling it and reinstalling it from the Creative Cloud app.

Yeah, it really sucks. I can't upload anything or access any of the photos on the program itself. Do you use mac?

Can you check whether all images are at https://lightroom.adobe.com? If they are all in the cloud, what you should do is uninstall Lightroom, go to your Pictures folder on your computer and find the Lightroom Library.library item. Drag that to the trash or recycle bin and restart your computer. Then reinstall Lightroom from the creative cloud app and run it. It should automatically recreate its library from the cloud and start redownloading previews for all the images.
